IBM Planning Analytics Workspace (PAW) 2.0.104 / 2.1.11

IBM Planning Analytics Workspace (PAW) 2.0.104 / 2.1.11 delivers meaningful updates aimed at enhancing usability and predictive planning. In this release, a few standout improvements are worth highlighting for teams leveraging forecasting and managing complex models.

Details

  • Version: 2.0.104 (Planning Analytics 2.0) / 2.1.11 (Planning Analytics 2.1)
  • Released: May 20, 2025

Use the new Database Explorer to view and perform actions on database objects

The new Database Explorer allows you to perform direct actions on TM1 objects such as cubes, dimensions, hierarchies, control objects, and chores. Supported actions include:

  • Delete
  • Lock / Unlock
  • Reserve / Release
  • Enable Chore Schedule / Disable Chore Schedule

This view offers more control and clarity in managing objects across TM1 databases. You can now see all available actions in a contextual right-click menu, streamlining administrative tasks directly within the PAW interface.

Export forecast values to a CSV file

Export forecast values directly to a CSV file, making it easier to share results with other teams or load them into external systems for further analysis. This adds flexibility and reduces the need for manual data copying.

Specify multivariate options for baseline forecasts

This allows you to include up to two additional related time series in a baseline forecast. This helps capture interdependencies between variables and improves predictive accuracy, particularly useful in scenarios where multiple metrics influence outcomes.

IBM Planning Analytics Workspace version 2.0.104 (20104), also known as 2.1.11 (2111), was released on May 20, 2025, which brings enhancements across modeling, reporting, administration, and a known issue.

What’s new in Books and Reporting.

Customize how selected and highlights cells appear in your exploration and visualization. You can set the background and border color of active cells, and there’s also a transparent background option. You can access these settings through the Formats Manager under Selection Styles, where you can choose the colors for selected background, selected border, highlighted background, and highlighted border.

The Set editor includes a helpful enhancement. A Remove Duplicated Members button has been added to the Available Members panel. This filters out repeated entries, making it easier to work with large or repetitive lists.

When exporting visualization as a PDF, you can customize the layout and scaling using the Print options accessible under the General tab from Visualization Properties. Choose between In View, which prints the visualization exactly as it appears on the screen, or New Page, which prints all data from the visualization, spreading content across multiple pages as needed.

What’s new in modeling.

After generating a forecast in an exploration, click Download Data as CSV to download the results. The exported file includes both actuals and forecasted values in a tabular format. This makes it easy to store, share, or analyze further.

Baseline forecasts can be enhanced using a multivariate model. Instead of relying on a single time series, the model can incorporate up to two related series to provide more context, helping it to produce more accurate and reliable forecasts.

The new Database Explorer will make it easier to interact with TM1 objects directly from the modeling workbench. Each object type supports specific bulk actions. For example, cubes can be deleted, locked, or unlocked. The same actions are available for dimensions, but also supports reserving and releasing. And for chores, you can delete or toggle schedules.

What’s new in administration.

Drive Explorer supports Access Control Lists, allowing you to control which users or groups can access each folder. Only those included in the ACL will be able to see or interact with the folder and its contents. This ensures greater control and privacy when sharing content in the drive across teams and environments.

In the cloud environment, each API key now displays its expiration dates, making it easier to see how long each key remains valid, which is typically up to 12 months. This helps you stay ahead of expirations, avoids service disruptions, and maintains secure, well managed integrations.

Known Issues.

There are two known issues related to delete permissions in Drive Explorer. First, users with WRITE permission can DELETE files and folders, even if DELETE is explicitly denied, which may lead to unintended deletions. Second, users who are granted DELETE permission on a shared folder may be unable to DELETE files. This contradicts expected ACL behavior and can affect collaboration in shared areas of the drive. That’s the last topic for this version.
