The Lightbulb Files: Dave Heleu
In an effort to showcase our profound passion for IBM Planning Analytics/TM1, our Control CC team asked Cubewisers about their ‘lightbulb moment’ experiences.
Meet Dave, Cubewise Belgium’s General Manager. Transitioning from his role as a financial controller, he experienced a breakthrough with TM1. It was during his third project, which involved a non-financial model, that he truly mastered TM1. He confidently declares, “There is no more box, everything is possible”.
Navigating private markets: crafting your investment timeline
One of the most important components of successful private market investing is to get your investment pacing right so that you can balance your liquidity with your asset allocation goals. The strategy and timeline by which you commit capital to various private equity funds requires careful deliberation so as to achieve the necessary diversification while also managing risk and aligning the portfolio with the specific investment objectives. This is as much an art as it is a science because the specific pacing strategy will vary greatly depending on your unique goals and circumstances.
In this article, the Apliqo FP&A team explores how analytical LP portfolio management tools can help portfolio managers with this strategic decision-making through data-driven analytics that mitigate against human bias.

Efficient Testing Strategies for IBM Planning Analytics
One of the challenges of IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) being such a powerful and *actual* real-time totally connected model is that one small tweak to the model somewhere can sometimes have an unanticipated effect on something else in the model that is hard to catch.
