PowerConnect Service Installation Guide

Prerequisites
Windows Administrator credentials are required to complete this setup.
Installation
- Right-click on the installer and select “Run as Administrator”.
Click on “Next”.
Read the license agreement, then click on “Agree”.
Select the desired components.
Select the installation location. Default is “C:Program FilesCubewise PowerConnect”.
After the files have been copied, click on “Next”. Then click on “Finish” to finalize the installation.
Please proceed with the configuration section at PowerConnect Service Configuration.
Upgrade
- If a newer version of the PowerConnect connector is available, upgrading to the latest release is recommended. The upgrade process will retain the existing configuration and installation location. It is always recommended to make a backup before upgrading PowerConnect, as outlined in step 2.
- Back up the content of the conf folder located in the installation directory. The default location is “C:Program FilesCubewise PowerConnectconf”.
- If a service account is used to run the service, please make sure you have the credentials available after the upgrade is complete. This is particularly relevant in situations where SSO (single sign-on) is utilised.
- Right-click on the installer and select “Run as Administrator”.
- The installer will detect if an existing version of PowerConnect is installed: is installed.
- Click on “OK”.
- Click on “Close” to proceed with the upgrade.
- Click on “Uninstall”.
Uninstalling
- In Windows Explorer navigate to the location where PowerConnect is installed. The default location is “C:Program FilesCubewise PowerConnect”.
- Right-click on the “Uninstall.exe” and select “Run as administrator”.
- Click on “Uninstall” and follow the instructions in the uninstall wizard.
- After the uninstallation is completed, the folder where PowerConnect was installed can be deleted. The default location is “C:Program FilesCubewise PowerConnect”.
