UPDATE 28/09/2016 – IBM has now updated their technote confirming that they would be releasing an Interim Fix updater and documentation for CDM and Cognos Express. Depending on the Cognos Express versions, some manual approaches might be required – but this will form part of the documentation.

UPDATE 21/09/2016 – IBM has stated that Cognos Express is under discussion now and that they will provide an update on this shortly. IBM has also advised that an “updater” would be released for Cognos BI that will update the expiring SSL certificates. This should be released within 1 – 2 weeks. However, there is no new information on CDM at this stage.

IBM has released the following Tech Note in their newsletter:
    http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21990588

The Tech Note talks about how to update the expiring SSL certificates.

In summary, this new technote basically states that there are 3 options available:

    1. Use your own certificates.
    2. Follow the IBM Tech Note here. This is described as Option A in our Decision Tree.
    3. Wait for IBM updaters.

The IBM document also specifically mentioned that “The ETA for this Interim Fix is not currently available”, but stated that the release of the fix is “very near”.

Please be advised however that the document has not specifically mentioned any plans for the following:
    1. Cognos Express
    2. Cognos BI
    3. CDM

We have raised this to IBM and we will update you as soon as new information is available.
